This is a joint position between the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and University Health Services. This provider will divide their time between serving the general student population, and student athletes. This role includes delivering services and outreach programming to student athletes and general students at UW- Madison, and building relationships and consulting with coaches, faculty, and staff across campus. While services delivered to the general student population will be delivered from an office at University Health Services, services delivered to student athletes will take place from an office on-site with the Athletic Department and, at times may involve traveling with teams off site and meeting with student athletes on evenings or weekends. Principal duties will include individual, couples, group, and crisis counseling; engaging in outreach events for students; building relationships with faculty, staff, coaches, and students; attending meetings at UHS and within the Athletic Department; and managing administrative tasks related to clinical service delivery.

Strong candidates will have experience in a clinical mental health setting and particular experience in serving collegiate athletes. Additionally, an understanding of and familiarity with NCAA Division 1 athletics culture will be helpful to candidates as they build relationships within the Athletic Department and collaboratively support student athlete mental health while working with players, coaches, and trainers. We encourage applicants who are excited to have a variety of roles on a large college campus and to work both within a large comprehensive counseling center as well as within a large elite-level collegiate athletics department. Additionally, strong clinical skills, adaptability, and an interest in contributing to an inclusive and diverse environment are highly valued.

This vacancy is being announced simultaneously with job 255728 and job 255731; please note that only one vacancy exists. Having three job postings allows University Health Services to consider candidates with social worker, counselor or psychologist credentials for this position.
