Company Overview
Premier Sport Psychology is a growing private consulting practice headquartered in Minnesota that provides both performance enhancement and mental health services to athletes and non athletes of all ages, competition levels and performance.
Located just outside of downtown Minneapolis, Premier Sport Psychology contracts with professional teams within the National Football League (NFL), National Hockey League (NHL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), and USA National Teams, the University of Minnesota Athletic Department, several other universities at the Division 2 (DII) and Division 3 (DIII) levels and selected high schools. In addition, we serve a broad spectrum of business owners, executives, leadership teams, and other business-related clientele in our consulting practice through our sister organizational consulting company, JSA Advising.
Premier Sport Psychology helps athletes on and off the field. We provide mindset training and counseling services to professional, Olympic, elite, collegiate, high school, amateur, recreational, and youth athletes, as well as musicians, actors, performers, and business professionals. We also work with the University of Minnesota Athletic Department, providing sport psychology services to 650+ student-athletes. Our mission is to help athletes reach optimal performance, mental health, and enjoyment in their sport and life endeavors.
We are one of the first performance psychology consulting firms to forge this territory and build a practice that is scalable and profitable to both employees and the business. We believe that our values will yield the type of culture, service and performance that will allow us to thrive.
Company History
Premier Sport Psychology was founded in St. Paul, Minnesota by Justin Anderson in 2009. The vision was to create a sport and performance consulting firm in the Twin Cities that served both athletes and businesses
alike – they named the firm JSA Sport Psychology. However, it soon became clear that it was difficult to expand into both the sport and business realms as one entity, as clients found it difficult to understand that JSA Sport Psychology served both athletes and businesses.
In 2011, Carlin Anderson joined the practice and the companies were split, with the new company, Premier Sport Psychology serving athletes and JSA Advising serving businesses. We soon outgrew the original office space in St. Paul, and moved to Edina, Minnesota in the fall of 2013. Since the inception, both businesses have flourished, with Premier owning most of the market share of sport psychology services not only in the Twin Cities, but the state of Minnesota.
